My first python project. Designed to make creating hoods of various sizes easy. You can pick a standard size in either an updraft or downdraft style or enter your own dimensions for a custom size. The program will automatically create drawings to show you what the finished product will look like. It will also give you all the hard to calculate dimensions. Default will automatically enter all the required dimensions for a standard size, and random can cycle through random dimensions and styles.
The home view gives you all the dimensions you would need to create the hood. It also shows you what the hood will looks like from the top, front, side, and an isometric upper right point of view.
Measurements can be enabled or disabled with the measurement check button in the lower left.
The flat view is a representation of what all sides would look like before they receive their bend. This view is helpful for layout prior to cutting the various shapes.
In the free view you can left click and free rotate the hood on 2 axis to see what the final product will look like from all sorts of angles.
The stat page lists all sorts of information about the hood. Using measurements, style, material, and gauge, it can calculate the total surface area of the hood, along with weight, and even pricing based on or area depending on a given price per square inches or pounds.
Calling the project finished for now but at some point I would like to add a layout view to fit parts to blank sheets of material. Also considered adding the ability to change the skirt length and top size, but feel the UI is already getting cluttered. If you have any suggestions or find any bugs toss me an email Jono@OcJono.com
